At work today I learned a valuable trick. While I was attempting to leave myself some notes on my whiteboard for Monday, I realized I had picked up the Sharpie (permanent black marker) instead of the Expo (white board black marker). Much to my frustration, I scribbled over the permanent marker with the white board marker. Not liking how the scribbling looked, I decided to wipe it off and do a better job. I expected to see my stupid permenant marker mistake, instead what did I see? NOTHING! Thats right, it was gone.

Apparently covering permanent marker with a whiteboard marker and then erasing it removes the permanent marker. AMAZING!

And now all is good in my world yet again.

Well today I’m moving out of my townhouse. So if you knew where I lived, after today don’t stop by because I won’t be here anymore I’ll be buying a house soon and will be living at the parents place until then. I will be renting my townhouse out if anyone is interested, contact me.
Also, I lost my old phone, and replaced with with a Blackberry. So please send me or call me with your phone numbers so I can get in touch with everyone again. I can also receive email on it, so feel free to email me too!

As you may have noticed, its been a while since I’ve posted anything. I’ve been lazy, actually nothing has really happened to post about. I’m still losing weight! Though progress has slowed down a little, I guess that is to be expected. Still trying to move out of my townhouse so I can put it up for rent and buy a new place. Hopefully one of these weekends I will get everything fixed so I can finally move!

Well I need to get back to work. I’ll post another update when something worthy of posting happens.

I tried to go to Macaroni Grill bar tonight with some friends and have a peaceful night, however none of my friends showed up. So I decided I’d get a single drink and kill some time before coming home and crashing for the evening. Instead an woman in her late 30′s sat down next to me, and started to ‘hit it off’ with this married guy sitting 2 seats down. Well as they start talking she reveals how this week was the 3 year anniversary of her sons death. There went my nice enjoyable evening. All I heard all night is about her son, and of course you can’t help but feel bad for her. Oh well, what can you do?

However, on a positive note, my bar tender learned an alternative way to make a Royal Flush, its excellent. For all those interested:

Actually it will be a lack of a haircut. I decided I’m going to grow a mop-top. Thats right, its exactly what the Beatles rocked back in the 60′s. Photos to come in just a few months.

I thought I’d share with my fans what exactly Ryan of AskRyan.com keeps in his refridgerator. Well here it is:

I spent some time tonight moving over my old projects page. It contains projects and programs I’ve written over the past couple years. Most were written so I could learn or understand a concept when I was still learning to program. Everything is GPL’d. Hopefully someone will learn from them as I learned from other peoples code. Just thought I’d give a little something back to the community.

For advanced programmers, there won’t be too much here that you will find impressive. Nowadays all my challenging and interesting projects are done at work.

I found this black and white theme. I think I like it. I’ve been tweaking it some, changing the layout a little. The only problem with it was that not all of it was translated from German to English. I don’t speak German, so it’s been fun. If you see any words that make you think ‘OK WTF!?’, please let me know. I’ll do my best to translate it to English.

Next I’m going to integrate my Coppermine photo gallery into the sidebar of this theme. A few people have written Coppermine plugins for WordPress, but after looking at them, they are either no longer supported, or they outright suck. I wrote some code for the old Gilfether.com website which does just want I want, so I’ll probably go integrate that code.

I’ll also integrate my page statistics as well when I get a chance, just like we have on AskRyan.com

I promised you I was finally updating my own personal website, Gilfether.com. I got tired of maintaining my own blog software, so I went with the opensource software called WordPress. Its pretty sweet stuff. Anyway, I will be spending the next few days configuring it. Check back soon and hopefully this site will be fully operational once again!
